Module 5: Habits
The goals of this module is to learn how to rewire your brain with new
sustainable thinking habits, to become the best version of yourself.
Watch the 10 minute video above about
HOW to build any new Habit.
How to Build a Brain Habit (In 3 Steps)
Ever tried to build a new habit and given up after a few days? That's normal. Your brain isn't lazy, it's just wired to resist change because change feels risky. The good news: once you know how your brain actually forms habits, you can work with it instead of against it. Here's the 3-step plan.
Step 1: Get Ready
Before you start, your brain needs a reason. Ask yourself: why do I actually want this habit? Not because someone told you to, but because it matters to you. Then picture what your life looks like once this habit is just... normal. That mental picture is fuel for when it gets hard.
Step 2: Rewire
Don't try to change everything at once, that's how habits die. Instead, build your habit using three tiny pieces, called PAR:
-
Prompt — a cue that reminds you to do the habit (like "right after I brush my teeth")
-
Action — the habit itself, kept small and easy
-
Reward — something you do immediately after, like a smile or a quick "yes!", that tells your brain "that felt good, let's do it again"
Small + repeatable + rewarded = a habit your brain actually keeps.
Step 3: Repeat
Do it daily for 30 days. Repetition is what wires the habit into your brain so it stops taking willpower and starts happening automatically. Track it if you can, and celebrate every small win along the way, that celebration is part of what makes it stick.

Example Brain Habits to Try
(Critical Thinking & Bias Edition)
Spot the Bias in Your Feed
-
Prompt: Right when you open your first social media app of the day.
-
Action: When you see the first post that activates your interest, ask:
"Who benefits if I believe this", “Am I being gamed”, “Is this true”?
Go to check the accuracy of the information or claim. -
Reward: Say: "I am in control of my thinking, and I get to choose my response."
Do it for 30 days. That's how a real brain habit gets built.
As outlined in the video, this is a plan for ANY new habit.
